Dennis
Mullen began his adventure in glass in 1979
where he worked in Vermont Turnbridge Glassworks.
In 1984, he
traveled to Denmark where he worked with premier
designers, Darryl Heinz and Anja Kjaer. During the
summers he
would work on the island of Bornholm where he would
demonstrate
glass making to tourists. Eventually, Mullen’s
travels took him to Sweden where he further refined
his techniques. Currently,
Mullen is the cofounder of a studio in Renton,
Washington. He produces his own line of high-quality, functional
glassware and glass art. Throughout the year his studio
also offers glassblowing classes and rents glory hole time
to those addicted to the passion.
Most
recently, Dennis Mullen was involved in the design,
development and installation of a glassblowing facility
located inside of Sammamish High School in Bellevue, Washington.
Only the third studio of it’s kind in the United
States, Mullen is proud to introduce students to “one
of the most intoxicating arts on earth”. |
